There are several reports that highlight Amazon to be the employer of ‘Tangguh’, especially for those who work in the company’s warehouse.
A report by people in business revealed that a warehouse employee was fired by Amazon because of too many bathroom breaks.
According to the report, Maria Iris Jennitte Olivero claims to suffer from the form of intestinal irritation syndrome, which means he needs to go to the bathroom up to six times a day.
Olivero claims that he told a manager last year about the condition and was told to get a doctor’s record.
The report said that employees did not get notes and were warned by his manager in January 2021.
He was given five days to get a note but, according to him, he could not get a promise for the next 6 days.
The manager wrote it and five days later he was fired.
The employee was told that it was “late” to give a doctor’s note when he was fired.
Olivero now sues Amazon to discriminate against someone with disability.
Employees submitted a case in June in New Jersey Superior Court, looking for damage due to his unfair dismissal.
Amazon, according to the report, “responded to the US District Court, tried to increase the case to the federal court.” Even though the employee did not mention how much compensation he was looking for in compensation, Amazon said that it was more than $ 75,000 – the reason why the company would want to move cases to federal courts.
Amazon in court detailed how much he got and the amount would be lost since being fired.
Amazon claims that “empty empty wages recognized to date is $ 17,251.75.”
