The former bishop was released in the case of Kerala Nun Rape

Kottayam: A court session on Friday released Franco Mulakkal – Former Bishop Jalandhar Diocese of the Roman Catholic Church – Double-raping accusations several times in a monastery, aroused sharp reactions from various quarters.

Sister Lucy Kalapas, who was at the forefront of protest against the bishop, said that the verdict was completely unexpected.
At the Facebook post, he said it was the day when the goddess of justice was killed in the courtroom.
“When someone, who is considered accused of the basis of circumstances and evidence, released by the court through one line, I express my regret to the sister who agreed to justice,” he said on Friday.

He added that the verdict had increased the threat to people like him to live with dignity.
SR Lucy expressed hope that the government would appeal against the decisions in the High Court and added that the court would be at one stage to find it guilty.
He showed that in the murder case of Sr Abhaya, the defendant was found guilty after 28 years and asked other sisters and everyone who came out to support the nun to advance their struggle.
