Mumbai: Unity Small Finance Bank (SFB), which was promoted by the Bharatpe Centrum and Group, has said that the Bank of India (RBI) reserves have cleared the appointment of former Comptroller and General Auditor (CAG) Vinod Rai as chairman.
Unity SFB has been given a license in the condition that he will complete the resolution for the failed Punjab & Maharashtra Cooperative Bank (PMC).
“Driven by its mission to have the highest standard corporate governance standards, Unity Bank seeks to have a strong council to guide its journey to become a successful digital bank,” he said in a statement.
Other directors who already exist in them include sandip ghose (rbi veteran), Basant Seth (former CMD Syndicate Bank and Deputy MD Sidbi) and Subhash Kutte (former RBL Bank Chair).
The previous RAI was the idfc chairman, an IDFC bank parent.
