The four member audit panel is set to make Rajiv Chowk safer

Gurgaon: District road safety committee on Friday review the condition of the city arterial road and NH-8.
It is also a four-member audit team to review pedestrian and underpass designs in Rajiv Chowk and correct errors that can cause accidents.
Deputy Commissioner Yash Garg, who chaired a monthly meeting of the committee, also directed the institutions concerned to increase the pattern of mobility at IFFCO Chowk by installing cameras and lights and building leg bridges in Khandsa Cut for pedestrians.
“Keeping the situation of the pedestrian movement in mind, there is a need to build a footbridge in Khandsa.
Many pedestrians complain about the dangers of crossing the NH-8 and demanding the construction of FOB.
We have urged NHAI to prepare FOB earlier,” Garg said.
The committee also instructed representatives of the department related to road construction to immediately repair the damaged city internal road on the Rain of Monsun.
In addition, at the meeting, the committee directed regional transportation authority officials to review the status of transportation services provided to students and compliance of school buses to the Covid-19 protocol and other government regulation guidelines.
“The school has opened and soon they will operate in a full way.
We have asked HR from various blocks to prepare detailed reports of facilities provided on all school buses in their area,” DC said.
During the meeting, GMDA officials said they would reach their target to install more than 1,200 CCTV cameras at various main junction of the city at the end of October.
Authority has also decided to develop a stretch between Atul Kataria Chowk and Rianta La Chowk as a road model, and the tender will soon drift.
