Bengaluru: For the first time, children over six years are included in the sero prevalence study conducted by the Indian Medical Research Council.
This is the fourth survey in this country, including three Karnataka districts in Bengaluru, Chitradurga and Kalaburagi.
The home-to-home survey began in the West Bengaluru zone in Kamakshipalya on Monday.
The exercise was finished in Kalaburagi District a week ago and will be done soon in Chitradurga.
The survey will test the existence of Covid antibodies in participants, to measure the extent of Covid’s exposure.
“Serosurvey will give us clarity about the level of Covid exposure among children in front of the third wave,” said a member of the Technical Advisory Committee.
BBMP officials said 400 people in Bengaluru were part of him.
Participants, all volunteers, must sign an approval form and provide blood samples.
