Thiruvananthapuram: Kadakkavoor police here on Tuesday recorded the arrest of a five-member gang involved in a chain robbery using a stolen vehicle.
Police identified the defendant as Shamir, 21, Pallippuram, Abin, 21, from Kadakkavoor, Akhil thugs, 20, from Vakkom, Hareeshu, 19, from Chirayinkezhu and Jernisha, 22, from nilamel.among allegations, Shamir and Abin were accused of stealing vehicles and then use it to do robbery.
Akhil Precan and Hareesh were accused of modifying stolen motorbikes outside recognition.
Jeshisha was accused of helping them sell the golden chain taken.
Police said the defendant was held after an investigation into a case relating to the robbery of the golden chain of an 80-year-old woman in Angilimukku on Saturday morning.
Both were accused of terrible attacking women who were walking along the road before running away with the golden chain.
The incident was captured on camera surveillance.
