Gurgaon: Flying Minister’s head of the head broke the gang that specializes in stealing diesel and gasoline from tankers who supply them to the fuel station.
Three people, including one tanker driver, were arrested from Mamat on Friday and about 520 liters of fuel – 55 liters of diesel and 465 liters of gasoline – had recovered from them.
DSP from the flying squad, Inderjeet Yadav, said they had information about the fuel stolen from a tanker in Mamat and a team was formed to see the incident.
Explaining gang operations, DSP said that with the help of metal cables, the defendant would make a hole near the parked fuel tanker box.
They will put plastic sheets under the vehicle to collect fuel that will leak.
The fuel will then be transferred to a small container.
At the time of Friday’s attack, one of the defendants was found holding plastic sheets under tankers and others were seen collecting fuel in small containers.
The people who were arrested had been identified as a driver of Rajkumar Tanker, Jahid Khan, from Mewat, and Toufiq from Alwar in Rajasthan.
According to officers, Jahid and Toufiq have an understanding with several tanker drivers.
On the way to the designated fuel station, the driver will stop at the roadside restaurant to eat and there, the fuel will be stolen.
Gang members will steal a small amount of fuel from each vehicle to avoid being detected.
They will later sell fuel to the vehicle owner in MAmat.
“They don’t have permission to save and sell fuel,” DSP said.
The case has been registered at Noah Police Station.
