Gurugram: A housing community with more than 700 flats, built by state-owned NBCC (India) Ltd, will be destroyed after being declared unsafe for residence.
Confirming “Structural and Construction Deviations”, Deputy Commissioner of Gurugram Nishant Yadav on Wednesday announced that Sector 37 NBCC Green View Society has been asked to empty on March 1, after a meeting with 140 flat owners and NBCC (India) Officials Ltd.
Yadav said the Indian government the company will provide alternative accommodation for residents.
It will also provide rent for those who want to move to their chosen flats with the same parameters, he said.

Decision destroyed the community came a few days after a portion of the housing complex called Chintels Paradiso in the Gurugram sector 109 collapsed, leaving two dead women.
“The decision was taken for the benefit of the owner and consensus of the flat between them and the authority of the NBCC building.
We will supervise the compensation and rehabilitation of the population,” Yadav told PTI.
The Chair and Managing Director of the NBCC (India) PK Gupta said the company “truly understood the situation of the occupants”.
