Panaji: After the state government issued a standard operating procedure (SOP) for the Ganesh Chaturthi festival, it was drawn, given the “people’s sentiment” and to “avoid panic”.
Chairman of the Minister of Pramod Sawant said that the government would not issue a new SOP, and that people had to follow the appropriate behavior of Covid.
The SOP issued is suggested by the Expert Committee.
“Respect for people’s sentiment, we have decided to pull the soup,” Sawant said.
“Chaturthi must be celebrated with a full spirit while taking all the necessary precautions, remembering a pandemic.” Even though there are suggestions from the expert committee, we hope we don’t need to release new SOPs.
“If Gouops take precautions, there is no need to issue a new SOP.
People first have to take care of themselves and others,” Sawant said.
In SOP was issued on Tuesday, the state said the priests from visiting the house to do Pooja, and limit the celebration of Vis-A-Vis Sarvajanik Ganesh Utsav.
SOP states that a maximum of five people must attend immersion.
“Ganesh Chaturthi is a country festival, and is celebrated in a big way in most houses in the state.
Everyone wants a priest to visit their homes to do Pooja, and people even want the right soaking Ganesha.
I appeal to all players to Taking precautions when celebrating Chaturthi, to avoid the spread of Covid.
“Sawant said that whatever SOP has been issued based on part 144 CRPC by district collectors will still apply.
Sawant said that people should not gather in large quantities, and maintain social distance.
“If some families have covid patients in isolation of houses, they must take all precautions,” he said.
The minister’s chairman said that those who came from other countries must be doubled, and that they had to test the RT-PCR.
