The government aims to declare 100 high-expense regencies that are most vulnerable because they are almost ‘drug free’ a year from now on

New Delhi: A year from now on the Ministry of Justice and Social Empowerment hopes to declare at least 100 districts from 272 high-expense districts that are most vulnerable as “drug free”.
Under the national free drug campaign, the government has placed around 11 parameters to evaluate the steps taken to combat drug use by the district.
From taking into account cases related to substance abuse in the district to build if the district has ensured that there are no tobacco stores or alcohol within 100 meters of schools, colleges and universities – each district will be tested on the impact before the “free drug-free” tag is intended.
The use of the word “close” was quoted as a warning because officials felt that in the field it was possible to achieve the situation to make space “almost free” from threats by getting rid of risk factors.
On Saturday, it was observed as an international day against drug abuse and human trafficking, the Social Secretary, R Subrahmanam, said the government hoped that as part of a 75-year independence celebration, the Ministry would be able to declare at least 100 districts.
Of 272 free drugs according to the definition and parameters set for assessment.
‘Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiya’ (Medicine Free Indian Campaign) was marked on August 15 last year in 272 countries found most vulnerable based on available data from various sources.
The campaign focal point is preventive, mass education and sensitization, the capacity building of service providers, positive partnerships with educational institutions, and augmentation of treatment, rehabilitation and counseling facilities.
To see how far the district has come because the program was launched 10 months ago, MSJE was looking for routine reports from the district and the steps would be assessed at around 11 parameters such as available maintenance facilities and the number of people who benefited from the addiction.
One of the recommended parameters will assess if at least 75% of educational institutions and hostels in the district have been declared as a ‘drug free’ institution.
Likewise, at least 50% of villages in the district must declare themselves as ‘drug free’.
In addition, all higher education institutions in the district must have a drug abuse prevention policy.
