The government announced new rules for drones, facilitating startups to make drone shipment

The government has revoked the Unmanned Systems (UAS) aircraft rules (UAS), 2021 and has introduced “liberalized drone rules, 2021”.
Startup and Drone operators no longer have to go through a complex approval process and the entire system is now based on self-certification and non-intrusive monitoring.
The government also sees creating a “drone corridor” for cargo delivery.
The government has removed several approval certificates needed for flying drones such as unique authorization numbers, unique prototype identification numbers, manufacturing certificates and airworthiness, certificate of conformity, maintenance certificate, import permit, receipt of drones, operator permits, organizational authorization R & D, license Pilot remote students, authorization of remote pilot instructors, port authorization drones etc.
Also, the number of approval forms are reduced from 25 to 5 and the types of costs are reduced from 72 to 4.
“Costs for remote pilot license fees.
Reduced from Rs 3000 (for large drones) to RS 100 for all drone categories and valid for 10 year.
“According to the statement by the SIPI Ministry of SKY Digital Sky’s website will now have an interactive air map.
The map will come up with a green, yellow and red zone and the same will be displayed on Digital Sky Wesbite in 30 days after the publication of this rule.
No required permission for drones Fly in Zoneno Green permission needed to operate drones in the green zone.
The green zone means air space to a vertical distance of 400 feet or 120 meters which has not been designated as a red zone or the yellow zone on an air map; And air space to a vertical distance of 200 feet or 60 meters above the area located between the lateral distance 8 and 12 kilometers from the operational airport perimeter.
On the other hand, the yellow zone is reduced from 45 km to 12 km from the airport perimeter.
License requirements have facilitated the remote pilot license needed for micro drones (for non-commercial use) and nano drones.
Also, according to the new rules, there are no requirements for security permissions before the issuance of registration or license.
“There are no types of certificate types, unique identification numbers and remote pilot licenses by R & D entities that operate the drone themselves or rent, located in the green zone,” he added.
The remote pilot license was issued by DGCA within 15 days since the pilot received a long-range pilot certificate from the official Drone School through the SKY digital platform.
The government will regulate drone imports through DGFT and there are no restrictions on “foreign ownership” in Indian drone companies.
Also, the requirements for import permits from DGCA are now abolished.
The coverage of drones under the drone rules, 2021 increased from 300 kg to 500 kg.
This will cover the drone taxi too.
DGCA will prescribe drone training requirements, overseeing drone schools and providing pilot licenses online.
What about the old drone present in India on or before 30 November 2021 will be issued a unique identification number through the digital SKY platform provided, they have and, GST invoices, and are part of the DGCA-approved drone list.
According to the new rules, standard operating procedures (SOP) and training procedures (TPM) will be prescribed by DGCA on the digital sky platform for monitoring by users.
There is no approval needed unless there is a significant departure of the specified procedure.
