Bhubaneswar: State Health Authority has appealed to people to avoid hospital visits unless absolutely necessary after a massive surge in the case of Covid-19 in health care facilities.
The outpatient department (OPD) in most governments and private hospitals was flooded with their patients and servants despite a daily surge in the Covid case.
While doctors and paramedics have been infected, health authorities understand that people visiting hospitals contracted viruses and spread to other people in the community.
The state has reported nearly 300 cases in health institutions so far, including around 25 infections among staff Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC).
“We have appealed to people to refrain from coming for routine checks in OPD because viruses spread very quickly and visiting hospitals in such situations will cause further challenges for health machines.
