Mumbai: The Ministry of Finance Maharashtra has approved the disbursement of Rs 15.80 Crore as compensation for losses suffered by fishermen during cyclone Kyarr and Maha 2019.
The state government has approved the Special Financial Package Rs 65.17 Crore in September 2020 for the fishermen affected by typhoons’ Kyaar ‘and’ Maha ‘and fishermen who face the financial crisis due to the weather of the storm from August to October 2019.
But with the Covid-19 crisis hit the country immediately after that, only 50% of the funds were disbursed.
Now the remaining number has also been approved for disbursional.
“This will bring assistance to the affected farmers,” said Minister of Fisheries Aslam Shaikh said.
