New Delhi: Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved the highest price that was always fair and remunerative (FRP) of Rs 290 per quintal for sugar cane farmers for the next marketing year starting October 2021.
The cabinet briefing meeting – led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi – Minister of Affairs Food and consumer Piyush Goyal said that the decision would benefit the 5 crore of sugar cane farmers and 5 lakh workers employed in sugar factories throughout the country.
The government has repaired the sugar cane frp at RS 285 per quintal for the marketing year 2020-21 at this time.
