Mumbai: The government has requested the National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI) to launch a platform for electronic vaccine vouchers.
This voucher will like an electronic prepaid instrument that can only be used for vaccination.
Entrepreneurs can buy this voucher in bulk and this will be sent to a smart phone or display employee telephone.
Employees will then share vouchers in hospitals for vaccinations without cash, and hospitals will get money instantly credited to his account.
According to the payment industry sources, NPCI is in the process of bank listing to issue this voucher.
The bank, in turn, will offer this as a payment service in partnership with technology service providers.
The aim is to send a voucher as a QR code to a smartphone and as a code to display the cellphone.
The same cellular can be used to send vouchers for the whole family.
At present, private organizations that want to bind to vaccinate their employees and their families do it in camp mode.
It’s just worth when there are a number of employees who are quite large.
In many organizations that have shifted to the home – from home, employees have moved out of town to their home town and returning to the workplace are not feasible.
Vaccine vouchers will allow employees to vaccinate at the nearest center.
The e-voucher vaccine will also allow the private sector to plan when it comes to ordering orders with vaccine manufacturers.
For hospitals, the advantage is they will receive instant payments in their bank account.
According to the source, although the platform is being developed for vaccines, it can be used for all forms of direct transfer of targeted benefits.
This will eliminate the need for subsidies and providers will not face the hassle of payment recovery from the government.
Bankers said that this platform was similar to prepaid gift card solutions offered by several entities, including e-commerce players.
