The government defended his decision to nominate the former Chairman of the Indian Head Ranjan Gogoi to Rajya Sabha in March 2020, immediately after his retirement with Law Minister Kiren Rijju on Wednesday said this was not constitutional.
“There is no limit to this discussion unless there are those who are not constitutional about it,” said Minister of Law when asked if it was appropriate for the government to nominate it to the upper house of parliament, especially after he headed a verdict that had given a verdict.
As in Ayodhya which is profitable for the BJP regime.
The minister rejected all opposition criticism about the problem that said “No bar on the former Supreme Court judge took RS nominations”.
Rijju said there were provisions set for promises of meeting several high offices where only the former Supreme Court or HC Judge could be nominated.
He gives an example of the National Human Rights Commission which is always led by Judge SC.
Even in the Law Commission, the chairman and several members are always taken from the retired Judge SC or HC.
