Bhubaneswar: The State Government on Thursday pushed back the date of reopening the school for class I students to VII until February 28, not February 14, as announced before.
Only teachers and staff will come to school from February 14 and students will continue to attend their class online from home.
In the Secretary of Letters, Schools and Mass Education, Bishnupada Setyhi quoted a rural poll to come as an excuse to delay the commencement of the physical class.
He added that more time needed to clean and clean the school place.
“Reports have been received from many district collectors who are looking for additional time to carry out cleaning, cutting bushes, small repairs and to ensure a clean environment after almost two years,” the letter was read.
It added that the collectors also showed that the selection process for active pri.
Most voting personnel, involved in the election process, are teaching staff and non-teaching departments.
These personnel are undergoing training and involved in other related jobs.
Expressing concerns over the possibility of the spread of Covid-19 among children, the letter said, many school campuses will be used as polling stations where there will be a heavy polling personnel movement, the police and the general public.
This can create health hazards to school children.
However, this has disturbed parents and revealed the lack of readiness on the government.
Parents say the government should announce the date to reopen the physical class only after the deliberation and comprehensive consultation with all stakeholders.
“After continuing the physical class from February 28, will the online class will continue or not?” Panda Bibek asked, parents.
Clarifying doubts, said Sethi, “orders only apply to government schools.”
