New Delhi: The government has formed an eight-member panel to frame new laws for drugs, cosmetics and medical devices.
The panel is being led by drug controlling by India (DCGI) Dr.
V G Somani.
“The government has decided to form a committee to frame / prepare for new drugs, cosmetics, and medical device bills so that new drugs, cosmetic actions and medical devices can be framed,” the Ministry of Health commanded recently.
Medication and Cosmetic Act, 1940, regulates import, manufacturing, distribution and sales of drugs, cosmetics and medical devices.
This action is amended from time to time.
The last amendment in the Act was conducted in 2008.
In the provisions of the Reference Committee, the command said, “The Committee must conduct pre-legislative consultations and examine this action, previously framed drugs and cosmetic bills and submit draft documents for drugs De-novo, cosmetics and medical device bills on November 30, 2021.
