The government is in no hurry to reopen the school for class I to VIII

Coimbatore: In a sign that the state government is not in a hurry to continue the physical class for elementary and secondary school students, the Minister of School Education Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi said that there was no decision taken in this matter.
“Private schools have asked the government to allow the return of the physical class to class 1 to 8.
But there is a fear of Covid among parents.
Therefore, the commencement of classes is still at the discussion stage,” he said during a meeting with private school representatives In the city organized by the Indian Industrial Confederation, Coimbatore Chapter.He said that the demand by private schools will occur to the minister’s chairman.
“Continuing school for grade 1 to 8 will depend on the Covid situation,” he said.
Poyyamozhi said that when the Covid situation was reviewed by the state government with health experts, the decision to continue the class will also be taken.
The Minister of Education also underlines that schools should not force grade 9 to 12 students, for whom the session has been continued, to go to school.
Representatives of private schools participating in the meeting filed a memorandum to the minister about the problems faced by school management, which had affected students, parents and academics.
Some problems are the difficulties faced in online schools, the inability to provide physical education for children, regulatory approval including building tax and RTO related approval.
He assured that many of these problems had been in deliberation with senior officials and main ministers.
Poyyamozhi urges government and private schools to function together to provide fair education to all students.
He encouraged cross-learning between faculties from all boards to improve the learning process and ensure that efforts in this direction will also be carried out by the government.
He insisted that special attention must be given to rural students.
The Minister assured that the Ministry of School Education would provide all possible support in eliminating the obstacles faced in daily school operations in post-pandemic situations and ensuring a more smooth transition.
