New Delhi: Minister of Justice Union and Empowerment of Virendra Kumar on Saturday launched an online portal and mobile apps to make skills development schemes accessible by target groups of backwards, caste schedules and sanitation workers.
Through the ‘PM Daksh’ portal and the ‘PM Daksh’ application, the government said, the youth the target group would be able to take advantage of the benefits of skill development training programs easier.
‘Pradhan Mantri Dakshta Aur Kushalta Sampann Hitgrahi (PM-Daksh) Yojana’ is being carried out by the Ministry of Justice and Social Empowerment from 2020-21.
Under the scheme, the target groups that meet the requirements are provided with skills development training programs on short-term training programs, short-term training programs, long-term training programs and entrepreneurial development programs.
The training program is being carried out through government training institutions, sector skills board formed by the Ministry of Skills and Entrepreneurship Development and other credible institutions, Kumar said.
Now, anyone can get all information related to the skills development training in one place by visiting the ‘PM-Daksh’ portal.
Also, just one click, one can get information about the skills development training program that occurs nearby and he can easily register for himself or himself for skills training, he said.
Kumar said some prominent features of this portal include the availability of all information related to skills development in one place for scheduled caste, classroom and sanitation workers, facilities to register with a training institution and for a person’s interests program, facilities to upload the desired documents related to personal information , facilities to register the presence of trainees through facial and eye scanning during the training period and monitoring facilities through photo and video clips during training etc.
The Minister also led the National Convention on the best practices and Northeast Summit.
Celebrating the 75th year of state independence (Azaadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav), the purpose of the Summit is to empower people with intellectual disability and developments through digital technology.
Kumar asked the disabled department of persons with disabilities to spread this convention throughout the country with more participation of ‘Divyangjan’ when he believed that nothing could be discussed without the presence of actual stakeholders.
