Ranchi: The Jharkhand government on Wednesday night announced ex-gratia payments one time by RS 50,000 to relatives of all those who died because Covid-19 since the Pandemi hit the country in March last year.
Office of Minister of Health Care and Disaster Banna Gupta officially announced a decision in a statement at night.
The amount of Rs 25.66 Crore has been allocated for disbursement, the statement is read.
“The loss of life cannot be compensated.
But through this small movement, the government wants to support families with families who lose their loved ones,” Minister of Health said in a statement.
The ministerial office said the district had allocated money for disbursement.
Application to utilize benefits can be submitted with the office of each circle officer.
5,133 people have died of Covid-19 in the state.
Of them, death is highly documented in Ranchi (1,585) followed by East Singhbhum (1,043).
