The Government of Assam to honor the ‘Oxygen Boy’ for his green initiative

Silchar: The Government Assam has initiated a plan to honor Abhinab Deb, a 9-year-old boy from Cachar for his initiative to plant 1,000 trees inside and around his village in Borjalenga in Dholy Locality.
Deb, a class III student from the Delhi Public School, Silchar, had previously been called ‘Oxygen Boy’ by Cachar DFO and Minister Assam for forests and the environment, Parimal Suklaabaya.
The Minister also joined the boy’s plantation on Sunday and appreciated the Green Abhinab initiative.
The Minister of Forest assured that the nine-year-old player would be respected for his encouragement by the Assam government after independence day.
“I will propose his name for the honor of the state level to encourage and appreciate his work,” Suklabaidya said.
He asked Cachar DFO to get the documents needed for this purpose.
Suklabaidya also appreciates Abhinab’s mother, Bulti Deb and Pastor Ajoy Deb, both social activists, for inspiring their sons.
“Abhinab never allowed logging or cut any tree in his house and in that environment.
Because he heard about the problem of lack of oxygen that translated patients infected with Covid-19, he promised to increase oxygen in the atmosphere by planting trees,” his father said.
Abhinab started his green mission a few months ago but it was on his 9th birthday, on July 2, when he, together with his family members, began plantations.
Boy Putra planned to plant children with a stretch of 2.5 kilometers from Chotojalenga Part-II to Nagobal Village under Borjalenga Gaon Panchayat from the Constituency of the Dholy Assembly.
Together with family members, some of the locals were also estraced to fulfill his dreams.
