New Delhi: The Ministry of Finance on Tuesday directing the Banking Institute of the Selection personnel (IBPS) to postpone the exam for clerical cadres at the Public Sector Bank (PSB) to the final view taken to do tests in regional languages.
To pay attention to the request to conduct clerical cadres in PSB in local / regional languages, a committee has been based to see this overall issue, the Ministry of Finance said in a statement.
“The Committee will provide a recommendation within 15 days.
The ongoing process of holding an inspection initiated by IBPS will be held until the committee’s recommendation is available,” he said.
Recently, IBPs issued an ad to hold an examination for recruitment in the Kader Clerical PSBS in just two languages - English and Hindi.
There is a request especially from the southern state to include other regional languages that are recognized to carry out a bank clerical cadre.
There are 22 languages recognized by the Indian Constitution.
The Minister of Finance in July 2019 has convinced the parliament that the recruitment examination for the work in Regional BPR (RRB) will be carried out in regional languages other than English and Hindi.
With the intention of providing a field of playing levels to local youth to take advantage of employment opportunities, the government in 2019 decided that for the recruitment of office assistants and the scale of officer I in the RRB, the examination would be held in 13 regional languages including Koniai and Kannada, in addition to Hindi and English.
Since then, the examination for this recruitment is carried out in regional languages too, he said.
