PANAJI: Chairman of the Minister of Pramod Sawant on Friday said the state government had begun to set up a vision document for Goa.
Goa 2035 visual documents were prepared by the Committee led by Top Scientist Raghunath Mashelkar still not mapped since 2012.
In February 2020, Sawant had even met Mashelkar and the Goa Foundation who was eager to discuss the implementation of report recommendations.
Sawant said that the task force will be based on reviewing visual documents and providing input for the implementation of the report phase in the state.
The report, prepared by the Goa Golden Jubilee Development Council was on July 26, 2010, and was handed over to the Chief of Minister of Manohar Parragar in July 2012, was never implemented.
Sawant said that the state government has prepared documents of vision for Panchayats through the Institute of Public Administration and Rural Development and Higher Education Directorate.
Speaking in the first function of the National Panchayat Parliament, the minister’s chairman asked members of Zilla Pancayat and Panchayat to oppose the next assembly selection scheduled for early next year.
He said that once members of Zilla Panchayat and Chosen Panchayat members, the action plan and document vision must be prepared for implementation in their respective jurisdictions.
“Politicians must dream and if we do not dream, then it cannot turn into reality.
In February 2022, prospective candidates must compete for assembly elections.
Many parties have come to Goa and there is an opportunity to take part in the upcoming assembly selection, but only 40 which will be elected as MLAS, “he said.
Sawant said that most of the time Panchayat members did not know what developments they should take in their respective environments and they must reach people with various government schemes.
He said that this government is committed to developing human resources in the state.
Sawant said that this government was the administration of “multiple machines” and that was the reason the Goa had witnessed the development throughout the state.
He asked Panchayat members and Zilla Panchayat to support the state government in achieving “new India”, and fulfilling the dream of Parrikar and the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
