New Delhi: After the Pandemic Covid-19, and consider increasing the production of Covid vaccine, the Indian government has established two laboratories to facilitate testing / certification of the accelerated pre-release vaccine, telling the Union of Minister of Science and Technology on Sunday.
According to the Ministry, the Indian government has established two vaccine testing facilities including one at the National Central Autonomy Research Institution for Cell Science (NCCS), Pune, and others at the National Institute of Animal Biotechnology (NIAB) Hyderabad as a Central Medicine Laboratory (CDL), for Batch testing and quality control vaccines.
At present, this country has a central medicinal laboratory (CDL) in Kasauli, which is a national control laboratory for testing and certification of the pre-releases of immunobiologists (vaccines and antiseras) intended for human use in India, he said.
Thus, with the support of funding provided by PM-CARES fund trust, two new vaccine testing facilities have been established as a central medicine laboratory in DBT-NCCS, and DBT-Niab, the Ministry said.
It states that since the Covid-19 pandemic, the Biotechnology Department has been at the forefront of contributing to various related activities Covid-19 including the development of vaccines, diagnostics and testing, bio-banking and genome supervision, in addition to fundamental research and also build strong ecosystems for translation research.
DBT-NCCS and DBT-Niab have become pillars for many aspects of work related to infectious diseases in India and have contributed to the progress of the latest research output in biotechnology border areas relevant to health and human diseases.
The ministry stated that facilities at NCCS, Pune, are now notified as a central medicine laboratory for testing and lots of releasing Vaksin Covid-19 vide.
Gazette notification issued by the Ministry of Health and family welfare on June 28, 2021, he said.
Facilities in Niab, Hyderabad is likely to receive the necessary notification immediately, he added.
In accordance with the ministry, with generous support from PM caring for trust funds in a very short span of time, both institutions through endless efforts have established advanced modern facilities for this purpose.
It states that facilities are expected to test around 60 vaccine batches per month.
Facilities are directed to test existing Covid-19 vaccines and other new covid-19 vaccines according to the demand of the nation, he said.
This will not only accelerate the manufacture of vaccines and supply but also conveniently logistically given that Pune and Hyderabad are two vaccine manufacturing hubs, declaring ministries.
