The government to continue the presence of biometric for employees of all levels from November 8

New Delhi: With the Covid-19 case in a decline, the central government on Monday ordered the resumption of biometric presence for all levels of employees from November 8 and so on.
Biometric presence, which involves pressing a person’s finger on a biometric machine scanner, stopped at all central government offices since last year, as a precautionary measure of the spread of Covid-19.
The presence is not maintained through physical registers.
Commands issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DOPT) on Monday said this problem has been reviewed and “has been decided to continue the presence of biometric for all levels of employees”, with the effect of next Monday.
It added that the department head would be responsible for ensuring that the sanitiser was included next to the biometric machine and all employees cleaned their hands before and after marking the presence.
Also, the six-foot physical distance must be maintained by all employees while marking the presence and if necessary, additional biometric attendance machines can be installed to avoid density.
Ask all employees to wear masks at any time, including while waiting to mark their presence, Dopt says the designated personnel must be deployed near the biometric station to clean / wipe the frequent field of biometric scanner / scanner.
Adequate number of biometric stations, he added, must be placed in an outside / open air environment; Or indoors with the right natural ventilation.
The meeting, Dopt said they would continue to be done at video conferencing as far as possible and private meetings with visitors, unless necessary in public interest, can be avoided.
