New Delhi: Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) has asked all district collectors to crack down on two fake or fake helmets, LPG cylinders (gas cooking) and pressure stoves carrying false ‘contents’ signs – Indian standard compliance bureau certification – as a special drive and to submit action taken in the next two months.
These three products are in the list of items that must be persertified by the bus.
Sales of non-bus standards or false ‘contents’ are violations that can be recognized under the Act bus.
Special campaigns for all three are being carried out considering their broad use and non-standard items at risk of posing to users.
The Act bus prohibits people or companies from producing, importing, storing, showing or selling goods and services whose mandatory use of the standard sign has been notified.
“Greater supervision and enforcement of norms on the basis can only eliminate the practice of making or selling non-bus standard items.
CCPA empowers district collectors to investigate unfair trade practices and violations of consumer rights regarding the manufacture or sale of the goods.
So, we have asked them to do this drive, “said a senior official in the Ministry of Consumer Affairs.
CCPA was established in accordance with the provisions of the consumer protection law.
It has the power to take the action of Suo Motu and can also direct the relevant agent to investigate and submit a report to CCPA.
