Patna: Deputy CM Tarakishore Prasad on Sunday format 74 state sportsmen in the function of ‘Bihar Khel Samman 2021-2022’ held at Premchand Rangshala here by the Department of Arts, Culture, and Teenchief on the occasion of national sports days.
Prasad distributes Rs 29.7 lakh’s money prize among the players.
Among 74 respected sportsmen at the event, 15 came from generals and 59 of different categories.
These players, who have excelled in various fields of sports, are given cash prizes, recalls and certificates.
Overcoming the event, Deputy CM said the state government was committed to promoting sports and protecting sportsmen.
“Sports not only developed a healthy body and mind, but also built a healthy society.
The government has taken several initiatives to create a sports environment in the state.
Stadium and gymnasium are being built in each district.

Alok Ranjan, Minister of Art, Culture and Youth, said that in addition to the Sports University of Bihar, the International Cricket Stadium and the Sports Academy was being established in Rajgir.
He added under Mukhyamantri Khel Vikas Yojana, the state government aims to build an outdoor stadium in each block.
“The government has so far been an approved creation of 353 stadiums.
From them, 169 stadiums have been built.
Efforts are being made to develop sports culture in the state through various schemes and programs.
Settings are also made for the creation of 24 modern training facilities for sportsmen,” Minister said.
Ranjan added that the scheme of the Eklavya state sports training center was being run for talented school children from the country.
“So far, 41 centers have been approved in 23 districts – 29 for boys and 12 for girls.
Thirty centers have been operating,” he added.
Art Secretary, Department of Youth Affairs Preyashi, Director (Sports) Sanjay Sinha, Director-Cum-Secretary of the State Sports Authority Bihar Kamshesh Singh, Director (Culture) Karuna Kumari and other officials attended the event.
