New Delhi: Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said on Thursday that the government would make it mandatory for all vehicle manufacturers to make bending fuel machines, after which received permission from the Supreme Court.
Flex-fuel, or flexible fuel, is an alternative fuel made from a combination of gasoline and methanol or ethanol.
Overcoming the annual session of the PhDCCI Industrial Agency, Gadkari further said that the government worked to develop the ethanol economy.
“We will make it mandatory for all vehicle manufacturers to make flex-fuel machines (which can run on more than one fuel),” said road transportation and highways.
The minister cites examples of Brazil, Canada and the United States, where most car companies produce flex fuel vehicles.
“We have submitted a written statement in the Supreme Court.
When we get the Supreme Court permit, then we will make it mandatory for all vehicle manufacturers to make bending fuel machines,” Gadkari added.
Gadkari suggested that the military must prohibit the use of diesel engine vehicles and use trucks that run on LNG, CNG and Ethanol.
The minister shows that ethanol is much cheaper than gasoline and diesel.
Noting that the government worked to develop the ethanol economy, he said, “450 factories have shown interest in making ethanol.
