New Delhi: Ministry of Commerce on Tuesday Quota Tariff Rates (TRQ) for certain items including pineapple, shoots, beer made from malt, rum and procedure for the import of the goods under Indian-Mauritius free trade agreement.
Economic Agreement and Comprehensive India-Mauritius (Cecpa) Partnership, a type of free trade pact, it comes into force since April 1 1.
Pact covers 310 export items for India, including food and beverage, agricultural products, textiles and textile articles, basic metals, electricity and Electronic goods, plastic and chemicals, and wood.
Mauritius benefits from preferential market access to India for 615 products, including frozen fish, special sugar, biscuits, fresh fruits, juices, mineral water, beer, alcoholic drinks, soap and clothing, and clothing.

in India-Mauritius Cecpa and the procedure for the import was notified,” said the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) in public notification.
Items permitted under the TRQ under the pact including pineapple (1,000 tons of charge 30 percent), Lichi (250 tons of charge 10 percent), shoots (7,000 tons of zero duty), and beer made of malt (20 latrit liters) at 25 Percent of Customs), rum (1.5 million liters did not work).
DGFT says all applications must accompany the pre-purchase agreement from one of the specific item exporters who meet the requirements in Mauritius.
“When cleaning the import consignment, importers in India must produce a certificate of origin issued by relevant authorities in Mauritius,” he added that the year in connection with this imports would start from April to March 31.
