Thiruvananthapuram: The government will intervene and hold discussions with the management of Bank Syria Catholics (CSB) who responded to complaints on policies taken by the Bank and complaints of its employees, Finance Minister KN Balagopal said in the assembly on Monday.
Replying to the calling movement of the call seeking government intervention, Ponnani MLA P Nandakumar said that 51% of CSB shares were taken over by a Canadian company that had taken anti-person policy.
He said that banks that have played a key role in the country, has stopped loans such as agricultural loans and educational loans and are only disturbed about getting profits.
He said that there were no employees left in the bank who had knowledge of the history or culture of the bank.
He said that the bank has turned into a new generation bank, and because of bank anti-employee policies, employees are protesting.
The minister said that the problems related to CSB have come to the attention of the government, and it has also received representation of employees.
He said that the state was also worried about the fact that there were bank deposits as much as Rs 35,000 Crore in the state.
