New Delhi: Minister of Union Telecom Ashwini Vaishnaw on Wednesday said the current debt obligations and in the future will continue to survive with telecommunications companies that have proposed to change their interest obligations to equity.
Vodafone ideas ridden by Debt Ltd (VIL), Tata Teleservices Ltd (TTSL) and Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra) Ltd (TTML) have proposed to change their respective interest obligations paid in contributions to the government.
Post conversion, the government will have bets in three companies.
“The government will remain an investor.
The company will be carried out by professionals.
All debt obligations will remain the responsibility of the company.
The company has given us a commitment,” Vaishnaw told PTI in an interview.
