The Governor calls for an official study of the Pre- Legal System, Post-Goa Liberation

PANAJI: When the judicial process from the high Bombay Court in Goa began at a new court where Porvorim on Tuesday, Governor Goveri Go Sreedharan called for official studies of pre and post-goa liberation law systems.
He said no such research had been done and suggested that it was carried out by the Law Commission or a leading legal expert.
Two years ago, the Supreme Court is owned that Goa is an example of a shining of the Criminal Code and is therefore important to study pre 1961 and 1963 civil and criminal legal systems in Goa, he said.
This study must focus on the advantages and disadvantages and impacts of people before 1961 and post 1963, the governor said.
Goa has a history of the rich justice system, said Pillai, said adding that the main minister pursued the establishment of international law universities in Goa.
The Chairperson of the Minister of Pramod Sawant said the commencement of the justice process in the new High Court place coincided with the 60thyears of Goa Liberation.
“Our ancestors against the movement of liberation to provide justice, both legal and social.
This dream must be a reality,” he said, adding that the court has a big role to achieve this dream of our ancestors.
“Access to justice is one of the most fundamental principles of the Constitution,” he said.
The Chief Justice of the Court of Justice Bombay Datta said the Lyceum building would not be discarded and added that the district court would shift there and continued until their building appeared.
Goa has a great legal tradition with the first court in Asia that was founded here, he said.
Justice Mahesh Sonak said the last 18 months had been difficult because of pandemic and there was despair that could be understood around.
“But this time teaches us to appreciate human life, the value of human relations and the value of many things that we almost have just received during times accept things that we cannot change, courage to change the things we can, and above all, wisdom to know the difference “
