Thiruvananthapuram: After a series of Mahar death rocked the country and kicked the heated debate on the threat, Governor Arif Mohammed Khan on Wednesday observed a quick social awareness to spread.
This is possible for the first time in the history of the country that every governor fasts for such social causes.
Khan started fasting in Raj Bhavan, his official residence, at 8 am urged people to say not great for dowry.
The governor took part in a prayer meeting at Gandhi Bhavan at 4:30 a.m.
before ending fasting at 6pm.

Khan said this business can be used to cancel their title later if they are found to offer or receive dowry.
The governor urged the ministers, MLA and representatives of others to stop attending marriage if they learned that there were dowry involved in marriage.
CM has provided full support, said Khan Governor said he had spoken with the main minister, who had provided full support to the campaign.
He also said that he received a call from the grandson of Gandhiji Tara Gandhi Bhattacharjeeconratulation because of his participation in a noble cause like that.
While the Senior BJP O Rajagopal leader, Leader of the Muraleedharan Union and Congress Leader Ramesh Chennithala spoke to the governor of telephone support, the former Oommenhandy Minister of Main Oommenhandy, leader BJP Kummanam Rajasekharan and Congress Kodikkunnil Suresh called on the governor on his day -The day.
A few days ago, Khan had visited the residence of Visimaya, who was found dead after allegedly being repeatedly attacked by her husband for a dowry, in Kollam and had entertained a grieving family.
Meanwhile, Union Mos V Muraleedharan at the Facebook post said: “This is a rare incident in the history of the state governance and allowing the message to be delivered through protests in the Gandhian method by the Governor who opened their eyes in the head of the government.” In an effort to provide a political round to the governor’s protest, Muraleedharan further said that the state government must be introspected why the government’s head in the country itself must protest such.
People who start activities like dowry are sure that whatever they do, they will get political protection.
The government tried to overcome all these deviations through campaign tactics, added Muraledharan.
