Udupi: In an effort to help class VIII students, especially those who studied in government and the students who were assisted by Udupi Regency, the Charitable Trust, Putture, had launched ‘Gransa Mitra’, a three-year project in the Katpadi Panchayat Library.
Shreesha Bhat, Mentor, and managing the Trustee at Willa said, “This is a project driven by volunteers launched by the Association with Udupi Zilla Panchayat.
Currently, volunteers from two private colleges – Trisha Vidya College, Katpadi and MoodLakatte Institute of Technology – Helping in these efforts.
Programs and events are held in their respective libraries every Saturday for two hours, from the last five weeks, followed by a regular attendance system.

There will be life skill sessions, application-based learning, education-based films will be screened, various competitions based on reading skills and special sessions with a focus on the national talent search examination will be held,” Bhat said.
“Meanwhile, to improve the library, book donation camps will be held, and the library will be cleaned by volunteers and students.
