Gurgaon: A 54-year-old man who was arrested for killing a 22-year-old woman last month in Faridabad allegedly carried out three more killings in the past two years, each of the victims, said the police on Monday.
The man, according to the police, posted as a security guard in a private hospital in Faridabad.
He has been identified as Singhraj, a resident of Wazirpur in Faridabad.
DCP (crime) Narendra Kadyan said Singhraj had taken the 22-year-old woman to an isolated area in the city on December 31 and tried to rape her.
When the woman tried to increase the alarm, she was allegedly strangling her to death.
The woman’s father filed a complaint from the police after he failed to return home.
After the inquiry day, the Branch of the Faridabad police branch focused on Singhraj and arrested him from his house.
The police said he knew the girl for the past two years.
On December 31, he walked home from the old Sabji bathing in the city when he asked him to meet him in the sector 17-18 Chowk.
“From there, he took him to the area near the 17 Bridge Sector and tried to increase him.
He killed him when he opposed and took his cellphone.
Singhraj then dumped his body in the nearby bushes,” DCP said.
The police managed to track it through the woman’s cellphone, which was restored from her ownership.
Singhraj had previously been arrested for killing his uncle and cousin in 1986.
After his release from prison, he began working as a guard.
The police claimed to have studied during Singhraj’s interrogation that in December 2019, he tried to rape a 15-year-old girl working in a tea shop and killed him when he opposed.
He allegedly threw away in a canal.
Singhraj allegedly killed two underage children after that and threw away their bodies in the same way.
The police said that he would be produced in court on Tuesday.
