New Delhi: Guild Editor India has condemned the police action against two journalists on Sunday by Assam Police at the request of Tripura Police, following complaints by VHP on the grounds that they “slandered” the image of the state government and from clothing.
The guild also demands their direct liberation and restores their freedom to travel.
Journalists, Samriddhi Sakunia and Jha Swarna, were detained while on their way to Silchar and were ordered by Tripura Police below, 120B (criminal conspiracy), 153 (provocation with the intention of causing riots) and 504 (intentional insults with the intention to trigger a peace violation) .
Duo has reported communal violence in the state.
