New Delhi: Guild Editor India on Tuesday condemned sustainable online harassment and organizing trolling female journalists and demanding investigations of the Supreme Court, and urgent government actions to dismantle the digital ecosystem “misogynistic and rough” like that.
Claiming that most attacks are targeted at criticism of the government and the ruling party, Egi asks the Supreme Court to order an inquiry in the use of the ‘Tech Fog’ application to harass female journalists with rough tweets.
“This is Travesty of all democratic norms, and violates the law,” Guild said commenting on the latest example of “trolling and organized harassment”.
“The purpose of this very painful message is to instill fear in it and to prevent them from expressing themselves freely and going about their work …
According to the report, some female journalists are targeted by thousands of rough tweets,” said Egi statement .
“Next, given the accusation that there might be involvement of influential people associated with the ruling party with the Tech Fog application, the Guild demanded that the SC recognize these things and order investigations into it,” Guild added.
Egi also recorded a recent example of a “auction” of Muslim women.
“The Guild Editor requires the government to take urgent steps to violate and dismantle the digital eco system that is misogynistic and rough and a comprehensive investigation is carried out to identify and punish the perpetrators and the entity behind it,” he said.
