Islamabad: Head of Pakistani contents on Saturday held the main security meeting of the Head of Regional Intelligence State, including China, in a developing situation in Afghanistan, according to media reports.
Lieutenant General Faiz Hameed, Director General of Inter-Services Intelligence (content), discussed Afghanistan’s issue with the head of Chinese intelligence, Iran, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan here, The Express Tribune reported.
Even though there was no official confirmation from any side, the source confirmed that the Director General of Contents discussed the situation in Afghanistan and how to work together to ensure peace and stability.
However, there is a lack of information about countries attending a rare moot.
Pakistani observer newspapers reported that Chairman of the Chairperson of the Intelligence of Russia, China, Iran, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan attended the meeting.
Geo TV reported that the head of the Russian, Chinese, Iranian, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan took part in the meeting.
However, Dunya News TV reported that only Chinese intelligence heads, Russia, Iran and Tajikistan attended the meeting.
“They discussed ongoing security situations in Afghanistan during the meeting,” said the channel quoted the sources.
But all news outlets agreed that the meeting participants exchanged views on the steps needed for eternal peace and stability in the region.
So far, there is no official confirmation of meetings and countries facing it.
Previously, the Head of Contents visited Afghanistan recently where he met with Afghan leadership in Kabul and discussed different problems.
A few days after visit, the Taliban announced their temporary government.
