New Delhi: Head of the MM Naravane Gen Army on Tuesday held a spacious talks with his partner Nepal Gen Prabhu Ram Sharma, focusing on ways to expand the cooperation of bilateral military in the background of a developing security scenario in the region.
The four-day visit of Gen Sharma to India came amid increasing concerns over the possible impact of the Taliban Afghanistan takeover on a regional security scenario.
Officials said Gen Naravane and Gen Sharma exchanged views on the strengthening of subsequent defense cooperation between the two countries other than deliberate in regional security scenarios.
Ahead of the conversation, the head of the Nepalese army put a bouquet of flowers at the National War Memorial.
He was also given an honor guard in the South Block Hawns.
Gen Sharma also separately met the Secretary of Defense Ajay Kumar and Head Head of the Air Staff Marshal VR Chaudhari with a broad focus on further increasing bilateral defense cooperation, officials said.
The Indian Air Force tweeted that the problems of interest together and the way to increase the road for bilateral defense cooperation was discussed by the two heads.
In the continuation of the ancient tradition that began in 1950, Gen Sharma will be awarded the honorary ranking of the ‘General Indian Army’.
Nepal ventured the Honorary ‘General Nepalese General’ to Gen Naravane during his visit to Kathmandu in November last year.
Nepal is important for India in the context of its overall strategic interest in the region, and leaders from both countries often record the relationship between the “Beni Bread” for the old.
