Islamabad: Head of Pakistani Army General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Friday discussed the situation in Afghanistan in separate meetings with the envoy of the United States, Russia and China after conclusions from Troika Plus, reported local media.
The meeting took place at the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi, reported Geo TV quoting a statement issued by the Inter-Services of Public Relations (ISPR).
Bajwa discussed the current situation in Afghanistan and things from “shared interests” for three meetings, reported the news channel quoting the wing of Pakistani military media.
The army’s head talked about the need for global convergence to Afghanistan to prevent the deepening of the humanitarian crisis.
Previously, representatives of the Troika format plus urging the Taliban to cut bonds with all terrorist groups and eliminate them the opportunity to act in the Afghanistan region.
The statement was issued after the Troika Plus meeting, which consisted of Russia, Pakistan, China and the United States, held in Islamabad on Thursday.
Four meeting participants “condemned in the strongest terms of recent terrorist attacks in Afghanistan and asked the Taliban to cut bonds with all international terrorist groups, dismantle and eliminate them firmly, and to deny the space operating domestically,” the document was read as quoted by the Tass news agency.
