Poynette: The highest horse in the world has died in Wisconsin.
The 20-year-old Belgium named Big Jake died a few weeks ago, WMTV reported Monday.
The horse lived in Farm Smokey Hollow in Poynette.
Messages left on Monday on Agriculture by the Associated press who searched the date of the horse died not immediately returned.
The big Jake is 6 feet-10 (almost 2.1 meters) and weighs 2,500 pounds (1,136 kilograms).
The Guinness Book of World Records said it was the highest living horse in the world in 2010.
Agriculture owner, Jerry Gilbert, said Great Jake was “superstar” and “truly extraordinary animals.” He said Jake was born in Nebraska and weighed 240 pounds (109 kilograms) at birth, around 100 pounds (45 kilograms) heavier at birth than the typical children of Belgian children.
Gilbert said he planned to memorize Jake Large by keeping his cage empty and putting bricks outside his kiosk with his picture and his name.
“It’s very quiet (on the farm),” Gilbert said.
“Other horses know.
I think they have time for grieving because Jake is the center of attention around here.
There is a big vacuum.
It feels like he’s still here, but he doesn’t.”
