Pune: With more than 20 lakh given the first JAD, the 45-Plus category currently leads the vaccination graph in the district.
According to a report by the District Health Office (DHO), a total of 20.06 lakh people from the category have been given their first dose; 9.29 lakh has received a second dose.
In the group 18-44, almost 17 beneficiaries of Lakh have so far received their first dose.
The drive for this group starts from 1.
May 1.
DHO report said the first dose coverage of the 45-plus group is currently at 51%.
Officials say if the vaccine supply to the region remains stable, the rest of the Lakh beneficiary can be given their first dose in the next few months.
The report added that of the total population of the target 96.77 Lakh Regency, 41.5 lakh had been given the first jab and 12.76 lakh they had received their second shot too.
In the district, the PMC area is currently leading in vaccination, with 24.08 doses of lakh (first and second) given.
Pune Rural has provided 20.45 doses of lakh.
The PCMC area is third with a dose of 9.72 lakh given.
Vikas Dhakane, an additional PCMC commissioner, said the Civic Agency was set to introduce a biometric token system on certain vaccination sites.
He said, “This system will help us manage the crowd of beneficiaries on the site.
We also consider kiosks to distribute tokens.
This will help avoid clashes during the token distribution.
We will have further details ready in the next few days.” An official with an official with an official PMC said the supply of a consistent vaccine is the need for hours.
In addition to availability, officials also said doubt vaccines have been a problem among younger beneficiaries (18-44 groups) and health workers and front lines.
“We felt a little doubt towards the second dose among health care staff, frontline workers and those aged 18-44 years.
Doubts about the second shot relatively low in 45-plus groups and 60-pluses.
Reluctance to get the second dose possible Because of the Covid-19 case which falls, something that was seen in January and February as well, “Dr.
Sanjay Deshmukh, assistant director (medical), said in an interview last week.
On Sunday, 23,638 people were vaccinated in all districts in the midst of a limited vaccine availability.
For Monday, PMC and PCMC only scheduled a Covaxin drive in each six and four designated sites.
Officials, in the next few weeks, also have to prepare most of the people who approach their second dose of covishield.
According to estimates, nearly 50,000 people are expected to complete their 12-week interval (after the first jab) on July 30.
