Thiruvananthapuram: After the threat of Omicron, Health Minister Veena George said the State Health Department had ensured sufficient oxygen stocks at a government hospital.
Currently the state has a production capacity of around 354.43 MT (metric tons) oxygen while demand is calculated only about 65mts at the hospital now.
“Therefore, the state has decided to save adequate oxygen to meet all emergency forms.
We are independent in oxygen production,” said the Minister of Health.
Anticipating the third wave of the Ministry of Health has increased the oxygen storage capacity in the main hospital as part of the steps Prevention.
All major medical hospitals have increased oxygen storage capacity.
If there are only four units of oxygen generators available in the state, now the number has increased by 38, he said, adding that, in addition, work is running to prepare 18 other units in Different hospitals.

At the government hospital there were 3,107 ICU beds and 2,293 ventilators, where 267 ICU beds and 77 ventilators were occupied.
A total of 983 ICU beds and 219 ventilators were occupied by non-covid patients.
Apart from this 7,468 ICU beds and 2,432 ventilators are available in private hospitals.
Private hospitals have given their approval to support the government by providing this ventilator and bed if there is an emergency, the Minister of Health said.
