The IAF began the experiment to land a fighter on the national highway

Jaisalmer: The Indian Air Force (IAF) has started preparations for landing fighter aircraft on national highways.
In the initial trial, the Air Force on Friday landed two combat helicopters between Gandhav and Agdava in the Chitalvana area in Jalore on the runway made under the Bharatmala project.
IAF and NHA officers along with the Jalore police administration were present and had made strict security arrangements.
In the situation of war and emergency, by landing fighter and helicopter on national highways, IAF can provide a successful form for several operations.
The Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Transportation Jalan Joint has made a scheme for that purpose.
On the demand and recommendations of the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Road and Transportation identified around two dozen highways in the country where combat aircraft could land in cases such as war situations.
A senior military officer and a senior Nhai officer said that such a national highway had been identified in Rajasthan where fighter planes could land.
Bharatmala National Highway passes from Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Barmer, Bikaner, Jalore, etc., including in Rajasthan.
These places have not been revealed at this time.
