The IAF-Drdo Smart Anti-Airfield Weapon test with a range of 100 km

New Delhi: Smart Anti-Airfield Weapons developed Originally, which are precisely guided bombs designed to destroy enemy runways, bunkers, aircraft hangers, radars, and other reinforced structures with a maximum range of 100-km, have been tested twice by Drdo and IAF in the last few days.
Saaw’s first test was carried out from the IAF aircraft in the Chandan range in Jaisalmer in Rajasthan on October 28, with the second carried out on Wednesday.
“Two different configurations based on satellite navigation and electro-optical sensors were successfully tested.
Flight tests based on electro-optical searchers from this bomb class have been made for the first time in the country,” said an official Drdo.
“The electro-optical configuration system is equipped with infrared search technology imaging (IIR) to improve the ability of strike precision weapons.
In both tests, the target that is intended to be hit with high accuracy,” he added.
The newly adapted launcher ensures the release and expulsion of fluent weapons from the aircraft, with navigation and sophisticated navigation algorithms and software in accordance with the mission requirements.
“Telemetry and tracking systems capture all mission events throughout the flight.
All goals are achieved,” he added.
SaAW, which has been tested around a dozen times now, has been designed and developed by the Immarat Research Center (RCI) coordinating with other Drdo laboratories, with the broad support of the IAF.
The PSU defense of Hindustan Aeronautics, in turn, has integrated weapons by plane like Jaguar fighters and advanced Hawk jet coaches.
