The IMF welcomed India’s announcement in COP26 on renewable energy, zero zero targets in 2070

WASHINGTON: IMF has welcomed India’s announcement at the COP26 Summit on new targets to increase the dependence on renewable energy and reduce the economic intensity of its economy, including adopting a net zero target in 2070.

“As you know, India is now one of the largest emitors in the world, it is still very dependent on coal for electricity generation.
