Hyderabad: With 2,047 new cases Covid-19 recorded in the country, the number of active cases in the state violates the sign of 22,000 on Sunday.
Jump massive views from nearly 2,500 cases on January 1 to more than 22,048 within 16 days.
From new cases, 1,174 recorded at Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), 178 in Medchal Malkajgiri and 140 in Ranga Reddy, together contributed nearly 94% of cases.
Three deaths were recorded and the overall recovery rate further slumped to 96.31%, down more than 2% in the past week.
With the total number of Covid-19 cases since the beginning of the pandemic reached 7.09 lakh, while the death toll at 4,057.
Considering 2.013 cases restored on Sunday, the total number of patients recovered now stands at 6.83 lakh.
Apart from the GHMC and its surroundings, districts who saw more cases including Nizamabad who saw 38 cases, Manceriyal who saw 42 cases, Khammam who saw 40 cases, Sanga Reddy who saw 50 cases and Hanamkonda who saw 69 new cases on Sunday.
