In 2002, it was decided by his majesty that there must be a new award to commemorate the Golden Jubilee of his accession to the throne in 1952.
This award was given to extraordinary achievement by organizations in the UK itself to improve their own time and improve the quality of life and opportunities for individuals or other groups in the community.
