LONDON: The Indian team happily became part of ‘Red for Ruth’s Day on the second day of God’s test against England on Friday.
Andrew Strauss and children supported by the Karya Ruth Strauss Foundation presented a five-minute bell to Kickstart Day from a test match at Cricket’s house.
“Happy to be part of #RedFORRuth #Teamindia,” BCCI tweeted while reply to the Tweet of the Lord’s cricket.
In 2018, Ruth Strauss, Andrew Strauss’s wife, former captain of Cricket England, was diagnosed with unregned lung cancer that affected non-smokers.
Ruth died on December 29, 2018.
He was 46 years old and mother of two children – then aged 10 and 13 years.
In his memory, Andrew Strauss launched Ruth Strauss Foundation to provide emotional support for families to prepare for death from parents and to increase awareness of the need for more research and collaboration in the fight against smoking lung cancer.
Back to action, India did not have the best from the beginning of the second day when they lost Batsmen last night KL Rahul and Ajinkya Rahane earlier to bring the host back in the game.
